The “World Day of Prayer” is an initiative that is celebrated all over the world with the aim of bringing together women of different races, cultures and traditions in a yearly day of prayer. On Thursday, 5 March 2020, ladies from Eunice High School attended a Women’s World Day of Prayer assembly presented by Mrs. Anmare Harris. The Women’s World Day of prayer aims to increase awareness of other countries and cultures; every year has a specific theme and country to pray for. This year the country of prayer was Zimbabwe. Mrs. Harris, with the help of three learners of Zimbabwean descent: Kayla Manduna, Ruponeso Zinatsa and Fadzi Zinatsa, introduced the assembly to Zimbabwe as a country and its various indigenous cultures (with each learner sharing their best memories of their time in Zimbabwe) before leading the assembly in a reading from the bible and prayer for Zimbabwe and its people.
