Delien Kleinhans of Eunice High School received the “2019 Girls’ Player of the Year Award” at the annual Junior Awards Evening of Tennis, South Africa. This is the second time that Kleinhans has won this prestigious award – she received it previously in 2018. The gala took place on the evening of 6 October at Feather Hill Estate in Potchefstroom.

Delien’s achievements include the following:

  • Winner of the Southern Africa U/20 Youth Games: Singles and Doubles (December 2018 – Botswana),
  • Runner up of the International Tennis Federation Grade 5 tournament: Singles and Doubles (February 2019 – Potchefstroom),
  • Runner up of the International Tennis Federation Grade 3 tournament: Singles (February 2019 – Pretoria),
  • Part of the South African U/18 Team competing in the African Junior Championships (March 2019 – Morocco),
  • Winner of the U/18 National Championships: Singles and Doubles (April 2019 – Bloemfontein) and
  • Winner of the International Tennis Federation Grade 4 tournament: Singles (July 2019 – Johannesburg).
  • Delien is also included in the Growthpoint Junior National Squad for 2020.
